Children's Ministry
Kids Church is a special worship service for elementary age children, grades K-4. This is a large group gathering designed to effectively communicate God's Word in an age appropriate manner using puppets, video, music, stories, fun characters, drama, and more. The kids learn to worship through singing, giving, and participation in the service. We meet on Sunday mornings during the 8:00am and 10:15am services.
Kidz Klub is our Wednesday night ministry to K-4th graders. It is a place where kids can connect and grow. It's our desire to see kids of all ages connecting weekly with God, teachers, and one another. As they do, we believe kids' lives will be changed and they will grow spiritually as God touches their minds, hearts and lives. The Kidz Klub program is a small group approach involving the children in four different stations: a snack, craft, game and story time. The Power Point for the night is reinforced at each station, which makes it easier for the kids to learn and apply to their lives. The snack may be eaten and the craft may become tattered, but the impact lasts forever.
Crew 56 is a ministry specifically designed for 5th and 6th grade students. This is a transitional age group, which builds a bridge from Kids Church to Youth Group. Each Wednesday night meeting includes a time of worship, teaching, fun activities and personal interaction. One Wednesday night a month is set aside for ministry development. Students are given opportunity to discover and develop their gifts through ministries such as: drama, human video, puppets, music and sign language. The whole atmosphere of Crew 56 is fun and exciting! This group meets during Sunday school as well. The Crew 56 room is located in the upper room off the church foyer. Crew 56 students! Junior Bible Quiz offers a fun and exciting way to motivate children to understand the all-important truths in God's Word. We offer two different opportunities for children kindergarten-6th grade to be involved in this awesome discipleship program. In the competitive program, children work together on teams to learn and understand the questions and answers from the Bible Fact-Pak. They have monthly quiz meets to compete against teams from other churches from our area. The "In House" program allows children to participate and learn the material in a fun, but less competitive environment. Whichever program they choose, they will learn Bible verses and facts that will stay with them throughout their lives. JBQ meets Sunday evenings after the song service in the Kids Church area.
Activities take place throughout the year giving kids opportunities for social interaction as well as spiritual development. Some activities include: Kids Camp at Dry Gulch USA, "Pig Out" Movie Night, Crew 56 Lake Day, and Winter Retreat. The Soul Patrol Children's Ministries provides an atmosphere for developing faith, fellowship and fun.
BGMC is the missions education emphasis for children in the Assemblies of God. Through BGMC funds given by children, missionaries can get the supplies they need (such as puppets, Bibles, tracts, literature, computers and much more!) to spread the gospel in their fields of ministry in America and around the world. Each week we receive offerings in Kids Church for BGMC and on Super Bowl Sunday we collect coins from the adults, which is our biggest fund-raiser of the year!
