Operation Christmas Child Collection Week
November 16, 2020. All day

VOLUNTEER UPDATE: indoor greeters are no longer needed. We will need outdoor hosts only to comply with the "drop-off only" model.

If you attend New Hope, bring your box to church with you so we can set them on the platform! If you do not attend New Hope and New Hope is your drop-off location, please drop-off at our Offices at 6800 Townsend Ave.

Shoeboxes are available in the lobby. In response to the pandemic, this year will feature an option to build a shoebox online! Just choose a boy or girl and an age, donate, and OCC will pack a box on your behalf. This is a great option for anyone who wants to avoid the contact involved in building a box at home and dropping it off.

Collection Week will work and feel a bit different this year! In consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic, we'll be facilitating curbside drop-off for shoebox donors. This means greeters will be working outdoors. PPE will be provided to all volunteers to do their work as safely as possible.

We have opportunities for outdoor greeters, carton fillers, and truck loaders at the New Hope Assembly of God Student Campus, 6800 Townsend Ave, in Urbandale, Iowa. Shifts are available in hour-long increments. Work as little as an hour or if you have more availability, choose as much time as you're able to donate. Don't forget to check your employer's Volunteer Time-Off options!

If you're an outdoor greeter or a truck loader, it's even more important to consider the weather! Please bring gloves, stocking hats, coats, etc., to be prepared for all types of wintery weather!

Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.
